250 & 450 Race Report- Toronto
- 3-28-2011
- Categorized in: Supercross News

With supercross coming down to it's final 6 races left, this weekends' race in Toronto was surely one you wouldn't want to miss. The day started out great with some exciting heat races. In heat 1 for the 250 Lites class, Pro Circuits Dean Wilson had the win down. Following him was team mate Blake Bagget and Malcolm Stewart. In heat 2, Barcia took first, Audette took second, and the rookie Lance Vincent finished in a surprising third place. Taylor Futrell and Ricky Renner had luck on their side tonight when they took 1st and 2nd in the last chance qualifier. The lites main event started out with Wharton grabbing the hole shot but followed closely by Barcia. Sipes slid by first and second place but Wharton quickly cleaned him out in the next corner. Barcia capitalized on this and took the lead to himself. Dean Wilson was holding a strong 4th place following Wharton, who got pushed back into third as Malcolm Stewart flew into second place. Stewart cased a triple and seemed to be hurt on the side of the track, which moved everyone up one position. Wilson found himself in first place after passing Wharton and stuffing Barcia during the ninth lap. Wilson rode a steady rest of the race and won his second Lites main event this season. Barcia stayed in second place and was followed by Wharton.

The heats for the 450's started out with Canard taking a first place, Dungey in second, and Windham finishing in third. The second heat concluded with James Stewart winning, Reed taking second, and Villopoto rounding out the podium. The European, Fabien Izoird, pulled an awesome hole shot that was a bike length in front of everyone else to start out the main event. Following that, was a huge pile-up in the first corner. Dungey passed for first place and Izoird, and Nick Wey were holding their pace in second and third. But, within a lap, Reed and Canard pushed their way into the second and third positions. James Stewart and Ryan Villopoto got bad starts and were back in 9th and 10th place until they both made a mistake and each other out. First, second, and third place maintained their positions with a few attempts to pass one another, but no successful passes. James Stewart pushed himself all the way into fourth place, but just couldn't get passed Canard. Villopoto ended the race in 9th place, which pushed him down to second in the points. Ryan Dungey slid out on the face of a triple, but wasn't down long enough for Reed to make the winning pass.
