AMA MX - Southwick Preview

As you probably noticed earlier this week, James Stewart withdrew from the rest of the season, wanting to save himself from injury in preparation of the Supercross season. It really seems as if the championship is in the bag for Dungey, and this weekend will either confirm it, or prolong his championship title for the next round.

With that in mind, assuming Dungey wins the championship, it will make him the first rookie to take both the Supercross and Motocross championship in his first season. No other rider has accomplished this. Obviously, competition isnt nearly as stiff as it could be, without a healthy Chad Reed, Villopoto, or Stewart, but the fact remains he's been consistent, injury free, and he's out there riding every weekend.

Andrew Short and Bret Metcalfe are 14 parts apart battling for second. We're sure to see killer battles among the top ranks for the second step of the podium.

We've seen in previous years that Southwick can bring some suprising and unpredictable results, so it will definitely be a race to watch. Sheckler Racing will be here to provide you with all of the news you could ask for!
