Brett Metcalfe had a killer start, taking the holeshot followed by teammate Dungey. Windham, Stewart, Stroupe and Canard were close behind. Metcalffe couldnt hang for long, and ended up crashing out of the lead. Dungey was up front at that point, followed by Stewart. Villopoto recovered from a bad start and made quick work of the guys in front of him, and joined the battle for the lead. Dungey and Stewart in the meantime had a great battle, swapping the lead back and forth. Eventually Stewart had a little bit of an advantage near the half way point, with Canard looking to podium after putting pressure on Dungey. In the meantime, Chad Reed was recovering from a horrible start that had him begin the race in dead last. 

Stewart maintained his lead for a little while, but wasnt able to gap the field like he had hoped. Villopoto worked his way past Dungey, and reeled in Stewart. All three riders were riding a super close race, whoever didnt make a mistake was sure to win. Stewart tucked the front end in a right hander, with Vilopoto taking the lead. Thats how the race finished, with Villopoto taking the win, followed by Stewart and Dungey.
