Mx Sport's Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship has picked up a new sponsor for the 2011 series. For the 40th year of this well known and highly publicized event, Oakley has decided to support the series. With this company always supporting certain motocross riders in the past of the sport, it was time for them to take a bigger step and dive into a larger category to help out the sport and its future. In the past, they have sponsored riders such as Jeff Ward, Ricky Johnson, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and even today they are still sponsoring the very talented Ryan Dungey.

Along with this new addition, MX Sports Pro Racing and Alli, the Alliance of Action Sports all announced that they are proudly presenting the return of the bonus awards system for all three professional classes for 2011. The system works as a direct benefit to the riders by being able to make contingency money through out their overall race results for the season. It is not a mandatory thing and you have to sign up for it, but it clearly doesn't make any sense why someone wouldn't take this opportunity. For racers who would like to register, they will be able to at the time of the event entry for each respective IBA program. To learn more about this, contact Jeff Canfield at jcanfield@mxsports.com.

The races will kick off on May 21st in Rancho Cordova, CA at the well known track of Hangtown which was established in 1968. Before this huge event rolls into Northern California, it takes the track's owners, volunteers, and workers approximately 3 weeks to turn this practice track into one that goes over and above the requirements to be an AMA Pro Motocross National track. To buy your tickets you can visit www.allisports.com, where you can receive special discounts for purchasing your tickets ahead of time.
