Checa has been seen testing the Ducati at Mugello relatively recently, and wit his renewed contract with WSBK, he's clearly got a great relationship with Ducati. On the flip side, Kallio is riding injured, with a trouble that has been bothering him during his crash filled season.
This is definitely no indication that he'll be riding MotoGP full time, rather he's most likely just supporting a struggling team and supporting an injured rider.
