Race Report-Arlington

- Categorized in: Supercross News
This weekend's supercross was in Arlington, the 6th to last race of this season. It was definitely one of the more exciting races of them all. With everything turning out great in the qualifiers, for both the 250 & 450 classes, everyone was prepared for an unpredictable main event. The lites main began with Barcia pulling a hole-shot. After the first 4 laps, Sipes finally made the pass into first place. Sipes made a small mistake that cost him, and Barcia filled up the lead that Sipes was pulling before. The 2 riders battled with each other and Barcia ended up in first place. Dean Wilson was steadily making his way into the battle. Sipes crashed into the tuff blocks and Wharton moved into third. Wilson made the pass on Barcia until the finish line jump when Barcia passed Wilson back. Right then, Wilson accidentally hit neutral but saved himself because he didn't stall. At the end of the rhythm section, Wilson made his way back into first. They battled it out in the last lap, but Barcia just couldn't hold Wilson off and Wilson ended up winning.

Mike Alessi grabbed the holeshot in the 450 main event with Canard following him. After the first corner, Canard passed Alessi and was leading the race. Stewart was in a comfortable third place with Chad Reed in second. Stewart finally passed Reed after a few laps and Reed passed him back a little bit after. Stewart and Reed were going back and forth until Stewart somehow lost control of his bike and ran straight into Reed. Reed went right over the burm and his bike landed directly on top of him. Stewart got back up and finished the race out in fourth place while Reed ended up in 8th. Villopoto moved into second place and Dungey into third. Canard rode a steady, great race and won.
