Race 1

Some big news from the event, was that Troy Corser seemed to have found out a setup that works well on the BMW, and it is slowly becoming more and more competitive. In the beginning of the race, Corser jumped out to an early lead, with Biaggi, Checa, and Guintoli close behind. The Yamahas had an extremely difficult race weekend, with Toseland starting from 13th on the grid, to Cal Crutchlow pushing a little bit too hard, and crashing out of the event. At the half way point, Corser was showing great speed on the BMW, and it appeared as if a win was even possible. Unfortunately, Corser began to have small mistakes that experienced riders, Biaggi and Checa were able to capitalize on. Biaggi took over the lead on lap 17. Corser continued to fight hard for the lead, but pushed a little bit too hard which allowed Checa by as well.

Race 2

The relatively uneventful race two saw Biaggi start off strong, making a lot of passes early on. Haslam attempted to overtake Biaggi, but he simply didnt have the pace to keep up with him. Third place was Fabrizio, who was fighting a hard charging Cal Crutchlow. Crutchlow put on a fantastic performance, working his way up from 9th to fourth after getting overwhelmed by a number of riders in turn one. In the process, Crutchlow set a new lap record despite less than ideal track conditions (most riders complained about a lack of grip). Biaggi eventually went on to win the race, taking the double win for the weekend.
