WSBK Series returns to the USA! - Full write up inside.

World Superbike:

Well, the weekend was all about Max Biaggi on his Aprilia RSV4. He did the double win, in the 21 lap event, and by doing so he now takes a 15 point lead in the championship heading in to the next round. Obviously Max's talent took him to those finishes, but it must be noted that a little bit of luck was involved as well.

Carlos Checa was clearly the fastest guy out there this weekend, but mechanical details plagued his races, and while leading in both races, he had to eventually give up his lead. In his typical level headed demeanor, he seemed disappointed, but positive about upcoming tests and races. Ducati cited electrical problems as the first DNF, and then a mechanical problem for the second DNF.

In the meantime, Checa set a new lap record during race 1. Leon Haslam, the former championship leader took second place, after following Smrz during his catastrophic engine failure. Despite being covered with oil, he worked his way up to second place. Haga took a suprising third place, after having a difficult season up until this point.

It was not a great weekend for the American, Roger Hayden, who took 16th in race 1, and crashed out of race two.

Max Biaggi: "Very lucky. I think Checa deserved that race because he rode very hard. Honestly speaking he deserved it but racing is racing and sometimes these things happen. This time it was our turn. We had a very good pace and I am happy for me, my team and Aprilia."

World Supersport:

Keenan Sofuoglu put on a dominant performance this weekend in the WSBK Supersport class. After a relatively dismal start, Laverty took the holeshot but Sofuoglu seemed to find his rhythm quickly, and made up all the lost ground on Laverty and made the pass. After he made the pass, he ran away with it. Breaking the supersport lap record twice in the course of the race.  Other than the first few laps, it was a relatively uneventful race. Chaz Davies, former Celtic Racing AMA rider put on a little bit of a show holding off Pirro, Fijiwara, Salom, Harms, and Rea. He did eventually hold them off, and finished a respectable fourth. American Tyler Odom finished 16th on his Erion Racing Honda. Melissa Paris, of MPH Racing finished 19th, completing 6 laps and unfortunately crashing out. Melissa paris was a wild card rider at the event, who normally competes in the AMA Series. Melissa is the first woman to qualify for a world supersport event, and we'll be hearing more from her in an exclusive Sheckler Live interview soon!
